FCPA Year in Review: Enforcement Trends, Key Cases, and What’s Ahead

After a period of disruption and a policy reset, the U.S. Department of Justice has made clear it will continue to enforce the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, but with a more targeted framework tied to U.S. interests, national security, and high-impact misconduct. While the past year has seen a smaller number of cases, regulators have sent clear signals that anti-corruption enforcement remains a priority, particularly where misconduct involves significant payments, third-party intermediaries, or links to broader financial crime and national-security concerns.

In this year-in-review webinar, we’ll examine the most important FCPA enforcement developments from the past year, drawing lessons from recent corporate resolutions and actions against individuals. We’ll explore what these cases reveal about how matters are being selected, investigated, and resolved, and what they signal for companies operating in today’s enforcement environment.

The discussion will also cover recent DOJ policy announcements and public remarks on enforcement priorities, including the continued emphasis on individual accountability and expectations around compliance programs, third-party oversight, and internal controls. The session will conclude with a forward-looking view of what enforcement may look like in the year ahead and how compliance teams can prepare.

Topics will include:

  • Key FCPA enforcement actions from the past year and the risk patterns emerging from recent cases
  • DOJ enforcement priorities today, including expectations around third parties, internal controls, and cooperation
  • What individual enforcement actions tell us about personal accountability and documentation
  • Looking ahead: where FCPA enforcement focus may be heading next and practical steps companies should consider

Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of this year’s FCPA enforcement landscape, practical lessons drawn from recent cases, and concrete insights to help shape compliance priorities for the year ahead.
